Required Profile Fields

You can set some fields on a user profile to be required so users will have to fill them in before accessing your content.

When you have required profile fields set for your site, new users will be taken to a profile fields page when they first log in and must complete all required sections before they can access your content.

Existing users will be asked to complete any required fields that are currently incomplete next time they log in.

Users will have to fill in any required fields before they can gain access to your content.

Setting your Required Profile Fields

To access the Required Profile Fields page click the cog icon in the top right of your screen and select Settings, then select Profile fields in the list on the left.

You'll see the following tick boxes, tick any that you want to make required fields.

• Profile Picture - Users will have to upload a profile picture to their account. This needs to be in .jpeg, .jpeg or .png format and has a maximum file size of
• Address - Users will need to enter an address using the following fields: 
  
• Organisation - Users will need to fill in the Organisation field. This is a free text field, however you can also add default options to appear in a dropdown box for users to select from. To add default options, type them into the box separated by a comma. You can enter a list of defaults up to 200 characters long.
  You also have the option to make the Organisation field optional. This means it will show on the profile fields page but will not require a value to be set.
• ID Number - Users will need to fill in an ID Number. 
  You also have the option to make the ID Number field optional. This means it will show on the profile fields page but will not require a value to be set.
  
• Group - Users will need to select a group from a dropdown list. This list will contain all of the existing groups on your site, so ensure that these are correct for your users.
  You have the option to make the Group field optional. This means it will show on the profile fields page but will not require a value to be set.
  You can also select a Default Group from the list of groups on your site to be assigned to any users that do not select a group, or leave this dropdown empty if you don't want a group automatically assigned. 

Once you are happy with your required fields, click Save Changes to apply the changes to your site.
